The Scuba Shop of the Town North YMCA, Dallas, Texas has been teaching scuba and certifying divers since the early 1960's. We try very hard to make our courses fun and enjoyable, while stressing safety and teaching the necessary skills. Our course is taught to the strict standards of the NEW SEI (formally YMCA)scuba program. The first SCUBA instructors were YMCA instructors, and certified in Chicago, Ill. in 1959. They provided the dedication and knowledge that has become our tradition. The SEI (YMCA) has trained divers throughout the world and helped to form other dive training organizations. Throughout our history we have worked tirelessly to improve diver safety and enjoyment with a parallel sense of responsibility toward the underwater world which we explore.
Today, as in the past, no sport diver in the world is better trained than the individual who has met the high standards of SEI (formally the YMCA) Scuba.
